New Jersey prosecutors recently revealed that children aged between 4 and 6 have been forced to be violent with each other as daycare workers made them take part in mass fights.
A press release from the union Country Prosecutors Office revealed that two women at the Lightbridge Academy instigated fights among children ages 4-6 … on at least one day in Mid-August and that one of the women took part in recording video of the fights with her cell phone and sharing the video clips with several friends on social media via the Snapchat app.
Prosecutors have charged both Erica Kenny, 22, and Chanese White, 28 with fourth-degree child abuse while Kenny also faces the more serious charge of third-degree endangering the welfare of a child. This means that they could face anywhere up to five years in prison.
In the video clips, Kenny can be heard referencing the activity as Fight Club, quoting from the book and the movie, the press release further states. [She encouraged] the children to engage each other physically. Approximately a dozen boys and girls at the daycare center can be seen in the video clips shoving each other to the ground and attempting to strike each other.
Luckily, it appears that no children were seriously injured during the fights and the Lightbridge Academy daycare have since fired both women.
