• 1/2 cup fresh strawberries, chopped
  • 2 limes, quartered
  • 2-3 mint sprigs
  • 2 tblsp sugar
  • 32 oz seltzer water

The temperatures are finally heating up! I’m so excited that the weekend forecast includes some sun because I sure plan to enjoy it. Father’s Day is on Sunday and a trip to the zoo is in order. Sunshine, animals, family time. All good things. Even better is the thought of sitting outside with a refreshing beverage. When summer rolls in I typically enjoy a variety of ‘spritzers’ that are crisp and refreshing. I’m not huge into alcohol so I came up with this ‘mocktail’ of sorts. Fresh strawberries. Lime. Delicious.

You can craft this in a pitcher or in 4 glasses, depending on your preference. I’ll be explaining this by crafting it in a pitcher.

Place the strawberries, mint, limes and sugar into the bottom of a pitcher. Allow them to sit for 5 minutes before using a muddler to smash the strawberries and flavors together. If you don’t have a muddler you can use the back of a spoon.

Allow the mixture to sit for an additional 5 minutes for the flavors to settle. Divide the mixture evenly amongst 4 glasses and top with seltzer water or Sprite (depending on how sweet you want it). Garnish with additional limes and strawberries. Delicious!
